what is this app that pulls all this data
Looks like a Compnine.com VIN lookup to me. Great site. It's usually $5 per VIN, but we have a member (@1ton-o-fun) who will run them for other members for free.

That's from the website Compnine. $5 dollars gets you 5 VIN pulls. It's a truly awesome site.what is this app that pulls all this data
Except, IIRC they don't have anything on pre-1990 model year trucks.$5 dollars gets you 5 VIN pulls. It's a truly awesome site.

Yeah, I think you're right. They had nothing on my '87 GMC R1500.Except, IIRC they don't have anything on pre-1990 model year trucks.
From my experience, '88-'91 is most likely NOT going to decode... I have only got results on ONE out of the 8 I've tried. I pay a monthly fee for 30 VINs a month. I don't mind running them for anyone. Takes a few seconds. I'm sure it would come in handy for you salvage yard shoppers to know what your donor vehicle has/doesn't have... just sayin'.Yeah, I think you're right. They had nothing on my '87 GMC R1500.
I have not had that happen with any of my trucks. But I would definitely suspect an issue with the hydro boost. As far as the trans needing fluid constantly, have you checked for trans fluid in the radiator? I know the cooler is in the radiator end tank, so it's possible it has suffered an internal failure. I've had that happen one time. Not common, but possible. Other than that, I would suspect internal trans issue or a leaking cooler line.Have you ever had a hydro boost unit issue, where it does like what mine is doing? The hissing sound under the dash and around the transmission tunnel, the brakes applying by themselves.... could that be sending the trans into limp mode cause it's acting up and overheating something?
And that's good to know about the radiators. Burb got its replaced in 2018, since I can't use the AC it doesn't try to overheat with it on. Big(pain in the wallet) truck has a thick core, I think....but the cooling system isn't something I have looked at a lot other than checking the coolant level. It's not leaking and seems to be working okay. Now if I can get the rest of the big SOB to follow suit.....
