I have a 1990 GMC SWB Stepside, single cab 2WD that has the standard duty (light duty?) front brakes.
I'm changing them over to HD, have everything to do this except a set of HD spindles. Seems these should be plentiful as everyone who installed lowering spindles should have a set of stock height units.
Please let me know if you have a set available. Thanks.

Uhh.. most spindles are identified by being 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive and what series they are. C1500, k1500, K2500, C3500. The HD is a weight capacity option increase in 2500 , 3500, 4500 series, year dependent. So you have be more specific.

I believe from 88 to 90 the 2WD disc brakes come in either 1 inch or 1 1/4 inch versions. The spindles/knuckles are different. He's looking to ditch his smaller one and upgrade to the larger.

If that's the case, O.P. needs a set from any 88 and later 2wd extended cab as they all had the 1.25" rotors.

After 1990 every C1500 had them regardless of cab configuration. I have them on my 92 c1500 RCLB

From 88 through maybe 91, there were standard and HD brake options on 2WD C1500's.
The differences are the calipers (2-1/2" piston vs. 2-15/16") and the rotors. The HD rotors take larger bearings and fit on larger spindles and of course take different bearings.

He means the heavy duty brake package. Most of us perusing the "lowered suspension" section of this board knew this right off the bat. If you're unfamiliar then you could sit back and learn something, maybe. ;)
