Power steering pump: flush or replace?

Another common problem with these pumps is pressured fluid leaking from the high pressure side to the low pressure side. Kits include two large o-rings to replace the ones inside that tend to harden with age ,etc.

is thiis a saginaw P pump or a CB or a TC pump? I dont know what these trucks use.
the front seal would have a bearing supporting the shaft if its a TC(also called type 2., gm uses these for remote reservoir applications)

On my 90 you have to remove the pulley so the bolt under the pulley can be removed from the accessory mount.
That's the difference between the years, my 88 with the steel bracket allowed me to remove the pump without worrying about the pulley or hoses. We just unbolted it and laid it off to the side, upside down but it didn't leak too bad:Big Laugh:
