Take the box you have, perform the TWO adjustments on it, spend NOTHING but time and effort. See what happens. Maybe you "win".

I’m looking at one on summit, it’s NEW not remanufactured

Almost certainly means "Made in China"; so "good luck".

I would want to know the gear ratio, the torsion bar size, and which steering stops it has. The potential for this to be way worse than what you have is high.

Buy a rebuild kit,download the unit repair FSM from the sticky and rebuild it yourself the way we used to do it.
