Ok guys I am bringing this one back from the dead. My truck is a 1991 454SS. Do I have to get a delete pulley or can I just get a shorter belt? Looks like I can just go with a shorter belt, but I may be wrong. Any idea what size belt? Even with the pulley what size belt or is that in the instructions. I have been searching for a week with no confident answer.

There's no good reason to delete the AIR pump. It takes almost no power to drive it, it supplies extra O2 that helps the catalyst live a long life, and reduces harmful tailpipe emissions.

There's pretty-much no downside as long as the diverter valve is working.

Do all the TBI 454's have the air pump? On the Vortec 454 it's only the CA Emission engines.

So it looks like the pulley that is already there will work on mine, an '88 silverado ext cab, long bed, 5.7.
I just need to figure out the correct belt size now... I don't have cats so I don't need the air pump. I think it is making my belt squeak anyway.

I just measured the new belt routing with a piece of string and went to the parts store and said "I need a belt this long"
