I am going on 72 and do work on the ground as I find it easier to deal with clumsy objects on a floor jack. I did my fuel tank on the ground no problem and I am in the rusty belt.
My brother lives two miles away and does have a lift in his garage but I don't like working out of a fisherman's tool box. Helter skelter is how I describe his organization skills

I did WestPac on the Kittyhawk in '77. Fun times.
I was on the Kitty Hawk for a few months in 1991, sad it is now scrap metal.

Just like fuel pumps that can be crazy to swap out sometimes, especially if full of fluid and dealing with rust when dismantling, My 4 years on the Kitty Hawk was crazy as well at times:
