That’s the axle flange bolt pattern.
@SNCTMPL I guess I screwed that one up. I don’t have a 14b sitting here…unfortunately.

I just chalked it up to a typo. Maybe you need a 14b sitting there.That’s the axle flange bolt pattern.

If it’s a 14b, it’s 11” brakes.Were any 14 bolt SS454 axles JB6 equipped?

A 14b? I thought some early 454SS’s had 10 bolts with crappy brakes. But the 14b’s all had 11” brakes.You say that, but there's a thread on here recently that mentioned the 454ss trucks getting the limp djck 10" drum brakes.

I'm under the impression ALL 454ss trucks got the 14b.
I know these aren’t your favorite people @Schurkey, but according to Little Shop, and I’ve also read elsewhere that some 454SS’s got the light duty 10b.I, too, expected that the 454SS axle was a 9.5" "14-bolt", and had the 11.x brakes.
Apparently I was wrong about the brakes.
Which then makes me wonder about the size of the axle tubes on those axles.
