You do however need to have the correct smog equipment for whatever year your car smog system came with from the factory

Look for RPO code NA5 in the glove box which is Federal Emissions standards (No A.I.R. Pump). If it has NB2 or NB6 then it likely needs the pump to pass CA emissions.

I've never owned or drove a truck like this yet. I can't wait to get her running. But before I start using her everyday I'm gonna make sure she drives good and doesn't throw any check engine lights or have any other issues.

You might want to check those codes and discover if you really are supposed to have that pump or not. Even if your buddy gets it passed this time the problem will still be there if it is a California truck and who knows next time he might be selling insurance in Montana . It is worthwhile to do it right. Otherwise great job. The truck is really shaping up.

Where is the rust on the rockers? I don't know that I've ever seen one that has been used and is as clean as that truck.

Bakersfield cars and trucks don't get rusted cause it doesn't snow out here. Last time it snowed was 24 years ago.

I got her almost completely ready. Have everything to do a test start just gonna drain the gas and oil then change the oil filter and I should be good to start her up. Here's beofr although you can't tell that much that I washed her. The bed was worse beforetbefore picture
