I’m asking for what’s the easiest cheapest way to get more power from the 5.7L? Bolt ons chipping it just seeing what others have done to get to 300hp or whatever number you ended up with.

Long tube or shorties?

Shorties. They will bolt up to stock exhaust or this flowmaster head pipe with high flow cats. I think engine masters did a comparison and shorties won vs longtubes.

My 97 k1500 has over 200k miles. Original engine and trans. Headers complete exhaust and black bear tune really woke it up. Sill running the original mechanical spider poppet fuel injection with no issues.

Have you done a Basic tuneup? Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil?

If You want more power after the above mods then it’s cam, heads and possibly intake and injectors depending on what heads you go with.

I keep seeing the need for a 'tune' when any significant modifications are made - and I'm not disputing that. Just curious whether the tune alters fuelling or ignition parameters - or both?
