I like it loud enough to help performance and confirm it's not entirely stock

Carry on.

I have the same problem with that flowmaster muffler on a suburban. I got rid of the muffler and put on a spin teck muffler. It got rid of all the drone and sounded so much better.

Pictures would be helpful. If the exhaust exits downward, the sound will bounce upward into the body (or bed) and be extremely loud inside the cab. Exhaust should always exit away from the vehicle, the ground and the body.

I have a "Y" pipe into a single 3" to the muffler and dual out of the muffler. They both exit out the same side (right). (bought it this way and not sure of the muffler MFG) It's not terribly loud but has a hollow sound I don't care for. Was thinking about a resonator upstream from the muffler. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Ken
