Looks great man! The only thing I would chage is I would have the lights horizontal instead of angled. I know it follows the angle of the bottom, but it just looks off IMO. Also, what do you have in mind for the latches for each swing out gate?

Thanks man! Honestly that's what I tried at first because that's what seems natural right? Well...it looked terrible when they were horizontal. So I angled them to be parallel with the bottom and that was much pleasing to the eye. It's hard to explain without side by side pictures haha. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do for my latch system though. I could try one of these but I don't personally like the look of them:

Or maybe one of these: http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-quick-release-pins/=hea0q8

Really don't know yet, but I'll get it worked out soon haha

I guess I didn't even see this, nice sketches! I really like the headache rack man

Thanks! Like i said i was bored at work each time i drew them. That bumper may eventually come to happen in some form but sadly not on my truck since its a diesel. there wasn't any way i could figure out to have a strong bumper without compromising something to make sure it had enough cooling for the engine.

De-Sta-Co's work well because the preload the assembly. Just using detent pins allows the joint to bang around.

You could using a wedge to preload before pinning to prevent it that though. Just mill a peice of UHMW to fit in the clasp to hold it tight and then bore the holes in the loaded position so it fits nice each time.

Haha well I don't know what to tell you about that since I have no experience with diesels

I think I see what you're saying, but that may just be more trouble (and money) than its worth. So what model # De-Sta-Co clamp do you think would be best for preloading both swing arms?

I'd probably use a 331 series. A 341 if you have the realestate and want a massive latch.

As well, I'd spec an R series for the lock considering the application. In the southwest I wouldn't worry about getting one in 304 stainless, the zinc plated steel units would be fine.
