Who did the timing belt? I hope it didn't jump time because they forgot to pull the pin on the tensioner.
One of our family friends is a retired Lexus mechanic from 20yrs ago. So right around the time of these cars.

To add. Today I ran it some and got a P0403 code. With is the EGR

So. I cleaned the EGR valve and it cleared that code. Now I’m getting a P0305. Which is a cylinder 5 misfire and I can’t seem to figure it out.

I remember replacing the front main seal on these engines. Not fun, wasn't expecting to be that in-depth of a job for the ask of a friend. I was impressed at how well and smooth the engine ran though. Reeved up very smoothly and had a pretty good ride to it.

How did you find it? I've used the look in the dark method and if I couldn't see any arcing I'd spray misty water at parts of the spark plug wires where arcing could occur.

I heard it arcing and saw it. Then I accidentally shocked myself on it………so yeah. That was definitely the problem. I also saw it in broad daylight!

Alright guys. So for an update, I’ve bled the brake system and had to replace the fan and fan clutch. BUT. I MIGHT BE GETTING RID OF IT.

I came across a 1996 C3500 CCLB with a 350 and 4L80. All the door insides need replacing, needs a new front seat, oil cooler is leaking. The body is almost perfectly straight.

That looks kinda familiar.....it already has PY0s on it! Interesting that the rear wheel wells have the flares but not the front, maybe the bed was swapped? Looks like a good hauler though once the inside is sorted out.
Next week mine is going to a good shop, that can do proper diagnostics on a Chevy. Would've gotten him over there this week, but too many other things needed doing too. Hopefully it's brakes and not transmission problems but we shall see....

The inside door handles are easy to replace, as long as you have access to a drill and a rivet gun to rivet the assembly to the door. I've done all 4 on my Burb, and it probably took 45 minutes a door. And I work slow on this type of stuff. The panels aren't bad, you have to watch that the Christmas tree clips are lined up with the holes are you'll break them. The whole thing sort of goes together like a good snap tite model kit.....
Hopefully by the end of the month, my local yard will have another discount day and I can get out there and score some parts for my boys. I'll look and see if there's a Burb that has a blue interior, and PM you if there is. I don't think they currently have any crew cabs out there. Had a couple early this year (before I had one lol).
