1995 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 w/5.7ltr engine, A/T

Since the oil cooler lines, and the oil cooler gasket & o-ring are all leaking like a sieve, I am going to replace the oil cooler adapter with a straight-down unit like this:

(Mr. Gasket Part #1272) thereby eliminating all the darn leaking.

Only problem is Oil filter fitment. Which one to use? What part #?

Thanks in advance,

Wix #51069 or whatever brand you like that crosses with that, I personally like Wix and won't run anything else.

Local NAPA didn't have the WIX 51069 in stock, so I purchased their "NAPA Gold" equivalent. It fit, and cleared, but only just barely- certainly not the 4" of clearance you guys were talking about. Don't know if the difference is in model years, or what? FYI: my truck is a 2500 series, if it makes a difference?

It doesnt clear by 4" on mine either, that is not a accurate measurement, Napa Gold's are good filters.

Guys i appologize. I originally planned on that filter but the one i ended up with was different. wix xxx99. i cant remeber the exact number but it is half the height of the 51069. i was concerned about the 69 and found that the 99 was same O.D. and thread. Again i appologize for my mistake.

Gotcha, good to know that info, you can run the 51069 with no issues, more filter media in there than the shorter one you mentioned,
