I have a couple of questions 1998 GMC Yukon 4wd. Been noticing for a few days that my steering has been really weird. New power steering pump and hoses, evo delete. It wanders a lot, more on uneven highway, on smooth highway it’s fine. I know that makes a difference but it’s never been like this. I checked to see the slop in the gearbox, engine off there’s a lot, engine on, there’s almost none. There is less than a quarter inch play in the rag joint, yes it will be changed, but I’m not measuring the amount of slop by the steering wheel, but by the coupler ahead of the ragjoint. So I guess the question is, is the amount of slop supposed to be the same whether or not the engine is running? Or is that normal for it to be different??
