got the crank set today and torqued down. cam bearings installed, triple checked all my shit this time. just waiting on my piston rings to get here so I can file fit those, damn machine shop threw mine away.... told him not to clean the pistons because I had them marked and the rings seated. well I deglazed the cylinders yesterday. as soon as I get the rings I can button up the bottom end. waiting on my speed master head gaskets and I ended up buying a texas speed stage 3 truck cam due to brain tooley being out of stock of their stage 3 and it being at least mid next week before they get more in. when my ls6 springs get here I can get them in the heads too. got everything I need just waiting for it to all show up. heres pictures from today.

Did you mill mill the heads? Flat top 5.3s without any trickery are 9.9:1 as I recall.

I did not mill the heads but am using a .040 compressed head gasket. stock is a .051. the average ls engine has a piston to deck of -.007, using that as a guide I have a new quench height of .033 and compression static compression ratio of 10.94:1. I am going to measure my piston to deck tho once I get my rings and the pistons in to confirm my true static compression ratio.
