Sell the 700r4. Apply that profit to a correct transmission. Your life will be more happy.

Ok, this is my first time here and I have a question. Recently I just rebuilt my engine in my 2012 yukon denali awd 6.2L. After sinking the money in this I pulled out of my driveway the other day and my torque converter tanked my 6l80 transmission. My father has a freshly rebuilt 700R4 transmission from a 99 yukon and I see that it will bolt up from other threads (where people are going from 700R4 TO 6l80) but will my denali have computer issues since the 700R4 isn't an electronic and my existing 6l80 is?

I can't bare to have to rebuild the transmission too, I'm not a mechanic just a DIY guy whose good with tools
So....
Yea you can put the 700r4/4l60 in the yukon.. But How are you going to crank the engine? The 2012 6l80 has a internal Park/Neurtral switch. So you would have to wire that up to your external park/neutral switch. Then you would need to tune it to clear all the codes.
The 6l80 has a 32 spline output, the 700r4/4l60 has a 27 spline output.
So you would need to swap the input gear in the Xcase.

With all that being said.. You will be cheaper and easier to get the 6l80e rebuilt.

Don't get "so preoccupied with whether or not you could, that you didn't stop to think if you should."

Nice Jurassic Park reference.

O.P.: the consensus is overwhelmingly telling you to continue using a 6L80, rebuilt or replaced as it was OE equipped and designed to be as such. Hope you now also agree?

L O L!

If you "can't bare" to have it rebuilt, just buy a GM reman unit. 3 yr/100k warranty, bolt it in, run the fast adapt and drive on.

Done
