I originally wanted a square body as a project. But the 400 fell into my lap, it is quite simple to work on, parts are plentiful and cheap. I have a GMT900 Burb I absolutely love it too. It will be getting some love here in a few weeks with a 100% proper AFM delete(Cam, Lifters, Plate, Head Gaskets, Tune etc...) I will also be keeping VVT though.

My next project will be a bit more obscure, a Porsche of some kind(928/944) as I unfortunately need an auto trans and the 928/944 is one of my favorites.

Being a little younger than most here on the forum, I can throw in my thoughts. I can't get over how bad new cars are styled, the mid 90s Dodge paved the way for good looking trucks, and cars by anyone up until 2005 or 2006. I myself have older cars, I also don't like drive by wire junk. My garage currently has a: 1993 Oldsmobile Bravada, 1993 Oldsmobile 98, and my girlfriends 2019 Chevy Blazer. She drove the Bravada and I had the 98 and I thought "Why don't I get the full 1993 Oldsmobile package" and went into looking through RPO codes and building window stickers for them, getting most of the service invoices from the Carfax reports and building a list of it. Back to my point: I had a Ford Escort ZX2 that I sold about 3 weeks ago, mostly to fund my purchasing of a new used truck, and it had a 5 speed manual. Something you can't replicate with pieces of material connected to a computer is a worn clutch and a gearbox that feels like it has rocks in it.
I don't want computers either, I have one at home to check my social media. I don't need wifi in my car, I have it at home. All I really want is a radio, I can use adapters to listen to my music. I don't need heated and air-conditioned 30 way power peacefully made, environmentally sustained, free range cattle, egg free, wheat free, non gmo certified leather seats. I just want cushy seats I can sink into and relax. Maybe I'm in the minority of people my age who don't want/demand so much in everything to be tailored to them, I want to be left alone when it comes to a lot of car stuff (and a lot of non car stuff, for that matter).

That late 80's - early 90's 928 S4 automatic is a complete beast! I've looked at those too. I had a friend in the '80s with a 944. You can't go wrong with either, but I'd be looking for that 928 . . . "Risky Business!"

If you're thinking about LS swapping it, just buy a C5. :)
no no no, staying with the OE engine. The 944 chassis is not meant to handle a ton of power, I actually wont be doing much engine wise. Header, Cam, MAF swap, Tuning and Exhaust. The rest of the $ spent would go to sway bars, tires and wheels.
