@Masterb4tes do you have another thread with, or could you add more pics? Like a crap load more lol

The photo you put up of the right side of the vehicle (can't say passenger side lol) tells me that the RHD vehicles still got the A-pillar grab handle and rear door on what is to them the driver side, lucky buggers. Really curious about what's different and what's the same

The plastic frame screwed to the cowl isn't attached to the windshield, it holds it. Had my glass changed last summer, the guy put glue on it and set it in place.

Yep, easy **** like that is a great and simple way to fail someone. As cool as Australia is, it does well to remember the English made it a prison before it was made a country.
For years we couldn't use European ECE standard helmets because they didn't have the AU standard approval, even though the ECE helmets were safer in all respects...

The windscreen on mine is wrapped and mounted in a rubber frame.
Any let up on the Lockdowns?

Any let up on the Lockdowns?
It has been all over the place honestly... Prior to Christmas I was in NSW, just south of Sydney. Most of last year it was all locked down pretty hard, no gym or gatherings etc. This let up in NSW in November as we hit about 90% vaccinated status so somethings were kind of normal. In December I came back home, North Queensland way, managed to drive that 1600m trip with little dramas, Queensland is still trying to limit things but I am in a rural location now, so it is nothing much has really changed here. There is some shortage on certain foods in rural areas, but oddly enough not so much fresh foods, most of that is grown around here and seems to be available.

Ok interesting, according to the window guys here they are all plastic/rubber encapsulated, been trying to source one since late last year, but every time someone tells me they can get one they end up telling me weeks later that there is no such thing as a 1997 Silverado/Sierra... The current guy at least knows about the Suburban that go imported to Aus in 1997-2000, so he is basically getting a windscreen to suit that. But the length on the two models he can order differs by nearly an inch in length and he is under the impression they come with the rubber surround in place. We won't know until it is ordered and here.
My biggest issue with the OBS trucks is that no one here knows anything about them, and parts availability is non existent. I might be able to get a new hood from Melbourne but they won't ship them due to damage etc, and that is nearly 2000m away.

If the weather clears up a little I will back it out and take a bucket load of pics, inside and out, I imagine some of you will get a right kick out of the conversion. Keep in mind this was converted by a private workshop back in 1997 to comply with various Australian rules. So it isn't just a matter of swapping the steering wheel to the Stbd side, they change out brake pads, sometimes lights and occasionally glass, seat belts, tyres and all kinds of arbitrary things. I have added the mod plate and the glove box ID plate too.

For some reason if your truck is white or green this site sometimes lists color as “Yellow’.
Anyway hope this helps.
Nice to have that F44 option - 9 1/2in. semi-floating rear axle with bigger 2 3/4x11 1/4in brakes, bigger U-joints and an additional rear leaf spring, It increased the trucks GVWR from 6200lbs. to 6600lbs. Basically, the Light Duty 2500!

The Suburban windscreen should be the same, as the Holden Burbs were all 400 series. Probably unlikely, but if you could find one of them that someone was parting out...that seems like it would help you a lot!
I like to see how these trucks have ventured all over the world, just wish y'all had the parts available that we have in the US.

Thats a sweet website @Caman96 I went through and figured out a bunch of the options, from what I could tell it was a decently kitted out truck. Big help :D

@HotWheelsBurban I nearly picked up a Suburban for parts a few weeks ago but they wanted too much money for it. Even a rolling wreck will fetch around $7-10k here

Wow! And I thought truck prices were bad around here! But I guess on the Holden Burbs, since there were only about 800 or so of them to begin with....
But yeah, you can see on the thread " 12k for these 400s", prices can get stupid on these trucks anywhere. I was looking at 5miles( a local garage sale type app that a lot of people use here in Texas) and saw some overpriced trucks. Half of them weren't listed correctly ( say it's a 1500 shortbed when that's not the one in the picture,etc.). I see these models every day in my normal travels; some of them are a little rough, but they're still getting it done. My Burb is no beauty queen, but it goes when and where it needs to. Too bad it's so expensive to ship stuff to Down Under, cause there's parts and parts trucks to be had in the States.

@HotWheelsBurban I have actually considered getting a 20ft container with a spare truck and a bunch of parts in it. Probably the cheapest way of getting stuff over here really. I got my truck for good money locally, about $10k AUD, the net cheapest available at the time was over $20k, had double the kms and wasn't any better condition wise. A neat rig will see you closer to $40k (https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/pomona/cars-vans-utes/chevrolet-silverado-pickup/1289416304)

@Caman96 my goal is to sort the truck out and make it a good solid daily driver. No show car, but neat and tidy. I am handy mechanically, but never done body work or painting. So we will try and get it on the road first, then sort out the bigger stuff later on.
