I was by myself today, my son had to work. I seemed to fight things, but still got a pile of parts pulled off. Hoping to have it down to the frame in a couple of days.

I haven't previously heard of that steering gear. From my reading of their website, it sounds like a great unit. I purchased a Blue-Top steering gear but now wish I would have purchased a Borgeson unit.
I was looking at the rebuilds, Red and Blue, or maybe even rebuilding the original. I found these while looking at steering shafts, and at the end of the day I decided to go with the least time consuming one and bolt in a brand new one.
I think you’ll be happy with the Blue-Top.

Got this yesterday, I was waiting for it so I could measure it and get the correct length bolts for it. Opened it up and got the measurement and went shopping for bolts. In about fifteen minutes I figured out that the new starters need a special bolt. The permanent magnet gear reduction starters require a 10mm shank and knurl, and the block is 3/8”. I immediately find an old post on a different forum from our own @Schurkey, recommending the proper bolt, I go and find the bolt at Summit and the first review is from Schurkey educating everyone on why they need this bolt.

I am going to pick them up tomorrow, Thank You Sir.

Nice. I purchased the same starter for my truck. I believe I already have the correct bolts---they do feature a knurl.
