8.25 front, either a 10 or 14 bolt semi flaoting rear, gear em with 4.10s with the 35. gear both or youll render your front diff useless and should never engage it with non matching gears.

if you want to regear to 410s look around for a 2500 light duty which is a 6 lug, they commonly have 410s in them and grab the front diff out of it. and hey while your at it grab the rear out of it too and upgrade to a 14 SF if your going to be running 35s.
Yes i understand 14 boltsf are in more then just 2500 light duties but if he finds a parts truck say in a junk yard with the 410 then he mind as well get the rear as well with matching gears if he dosent already have the f44 packageI think the 3:73 gearing is a bit more common then 4:10s. But 2500 Light Duties are not the only trucks with the 14B SF. They are also found in the 1500 Diesels and any 1500 with the F44 Package. From the conversation i have had with Fastorange it sounds like the 2500 LD was replaced by the F44 packaged 1500s since they are basically the same truck. Same idea as to how the 97-99 Ford F250s were replaced with the F150 7700 package.
2500s donr have the 9.25 front?
Depends on which 2500 it is.
6 lug have the 8.25 same as 1500
8 lug would have the 9.25 same as 3500
