What 14bolt axle should I look for?

So I found a guy that has two 14 bolt axles for 6 bolt wheels with 3.73 ratio.
Not sure if there is G80 inside :) though

They are from 2500 Diesels a 94 and a 95 one.
Planning to eventually use it on our 1990 K1500 Z71. When turning that into a Sportside 4WD 350/4l60 SS "Clone"

I did some research and there seems to be some weirdness involved in how the brake drums are removed with one variant being "normal" and the other only comes out together with the driveshaft.

What should I look for? Is the track width on all 2500's the same as our K1500? etc. Can I check if it has G80 without opening up the pumpkin?

Thanks, That narrows it down a bit.
Apparently a Semifloat axle is the way to go for me.
Does anyone know the Wheel mounting surface distance of a K1500 on the top of their head? Yes I could take the wheels of and measure but a guy is lazy you know...;)

One of them has 230 000 miles on it
the other has 120 000 miles on it but is missing the backing plates. Seller is asking the equivalent of $250 each. I' m thinking of buying them both if I can get them fo $400.
Backing plates for a 9,5" SF Truck axle seems to be a hard to find/expensive part.

Dorman makes them, FWIW

Aha, great info Theese I think:

$150 on amazon.com With shipping to Sweden, usually gets pricier still at checkout...

A guy can hope.

Pickup? Suburban? Something else? 2WD or 4WD?

AXLE shaft, not driveshaft. And those would be the AAM/"Corporate" "full-float" axle assemblies, generally 10.5" ring gear on these trucks, but potentially a Dana axle. The AAM would have 8 lug studs, the Dana could have 8 or 10 lug studs, I guess. Never seen a Dana axle for the GMT400.

You're looking for a semi-float axle, 6 lug studs. Some semi-floats have 8 lugs, but no full-floats have 6.

Both wheels off the ground. Or no wheels, just axle shafts poking out.

Spin one axle shaft flange HARD, in either direction. If it's G80, you should feel the differential lock, because it'll be SUDDENLY difficult to turn that axle shaft flange.

If the axle shaft spins easily in either direction, it's an open differential.

Both for $400 would be a good deal, I think.

Lots of good info there, thanks!
These axles are from trucks and I now know they have slide on drums. Not sure if they are 4WD or 2WD. My guess would be 2WD axles. What is different between the two?

Seller claims they both have G80 gov locks. Thanks to you I can now verify that, if I can make a deal with this guy. He has refused my $400 offer.
Not sure if I want to go any higher, the high mileage one looks like it came of the titanic...
