Id like to throw my hat in the ring and chime in. Maybe take a look at the Hertz Audio line. Everything from the entry level to their super high end is solid and sounds super nice. I personally use the Mille Pro series components fully active......

Do you still like these speakers?

Yup, I'm still happy with them. No amp, running straight off my head unit.

@Wh4t3v3rs I've seen you mention the Hertz Mille series before but I'd never looked them up until just now. Dang those are nice looking! The MPK 165.3 6.5" passive system boasts a sensitivity level of 92db and plays down to 40Hz, impressive! Not cheap though...

These are decent speakers. I have mine running off of a really old aftermarket kenwood headunit and I like them. I want to run an amp to them cause it would sound much better. But if you are going to run an amp might as well go with larger than the stock 4x6 speakers for the rear.

No, they are not cheap. They are an investment, but the tradeoff for the OUTSTANDING midbass and killer highs makes it all worth it! They are Italian made, and carry the reputation of fine made products!

I've got infinity reference in the dash, mine didn't come with door speakers. I've used them on most vehicles and love them.

Bought a set of the KS series kicker. Plan to install them at some point this weekend along with a new headunit.

I’ve got a 97 ext cab with 3rd door. Where do the rear speaker wires run through to the headunit? I want to disconnect them since I’m not doing anything with the rears yet.

Left rear is brown (+)/ yellow (-)
Right reas is dark blue (+)/ light blue (-)
They are found behind the radio, wiring harness going to rear in the kick panels, or at the speakers....

Awesome! Thank you. Do they run down below the threshold plate? And are they ran down each side? Appreciate the help. Hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving!
