Welder ???

What kind of welder are you using for notches
I'm still using a stick welder. I've been welding since the mid 70's. It's what I started with and used when I was in the pipefitters union. I've done mig and tig welding but I'm more comfortable with stick.

Frames not that thick I think, look at the amps needed for thickness of frame and material you plan to weld. Then make sure to have a good ground and clean/prep the metals.

I have a handler 140 it says it will weld frame thickness inwas just worried where its a 110 setup it is set up for argon tho

Pure argon is for aluminum, you should use 75/25 (argon/CO2) for steel. With a small welder like that watch your duty cycle. You wanna run it as hot as you can and get plenty of penetration. I have an old one I use for most everything with 0.035" wire.

Here's another pic of my setup. When welding at high heats it draws 35Amps @ 240Volts
