IDK how that worked. Is it plastic? I thought it was something tougher than that.

yes it is some sort of plastic I am okay with that I would like to get a metal one though for our 94 K-2500 extended cab long bed frank'n truck

I know the Z71 package on the K1500 said "metal skid plates" or "aluminum skid plates" (I can't remember) in the literature back then. Maybe other 4X4 trucks had the front plastic skid plate????? I didn't even know plastic was even a thing for the front skid plate.

This topic came up a not too long ago and I’m pretty sure a few with Z71’s said they had the “plastic” shield.

I've only had two Z71s and both were '94 with aluminum. But, that makes my sample size pretty small too.

Yeah I seem to remember quite a few with Z71’s saying that.

So my 93, K1500, xtd, sbd, has all three metal pates. The 95, K2500 xtd cab, six lug, has all three metal plates. The 98 Tahoe 4x4, 4 Dr., has a two metal skid, but plastic front. I'm sure there is some logic to it, hekifino .
