Hi everyone, First post on this Forum. Decided my next build will be a 2 door Tahoe, slammed, so i'm here to learn and ask questions
Where i live, finding a 2wd 2 door Tahoe is difficult, so i'm likely stuck with a 4x4. I want to convert to 2wd for the simplicity of lowering the front.
My ideas are to find a 2wd frame and swap under it, but i do not know the compatibility of OBS vehicles yet. I have access to three major Pick N Pull yards local to me so finding a proper frame is doable, but i need to know which will work. I am a very competent fabricator, so i'm not afraid to pull out the plasma cutter and welders, but i would like to choose the path of least resistance.
1) would a 4 door 2wd Yukon/Tahoe frame work (if i narrowed the frame in the middle?)
2) Would any 2wd truck frame work? RCSB possibly? or are the completely different?
A couple side questions: ON 2 door Tahoe's, is a 4x4 considered a 2500 chassis, and subsequently taller than a 1500?
Thanks for helping out the new guy.
Adrian
