Steering play survey: How loose is yours?

How much play do you have in your steering wheel? 1/2, 1", 2 inches?

Mine really doesn't count. The combination of having 35s, long arms on my crossover steering to make it turn easier, a worn out steering box, and the fact that it eats rag joints... it's pretty bad.

About 1.5". I'm planning on rebuilding the front end this summer. At 188,000 miles it's time for it.

Pretty minimal if any. Any "slop" is mostly sidewall deflection.

I like to keep the front end tight and well greased.

I've had several techs say my truck is the tightest handling gmt400 they've ever driven.

The GMT400 parallelogram style steering is sloppy enough just in it's design, let alone allowing any extra "wear slop" to make it even worse....

I have 2 of them in my garage just haven't put them in yet. It will be a welcome upgrade to my truck, rag joints don't last with my setup.
