NV3500/10 bolt gear whine.

I've had a similar whine before. It was at its worst in 5th gear. After the trans rebuild it was gone.

However, I get a whining/clicking sound. Which I believe is a little ring in the tcase tail housing.. Might be worth checking? Although it should be more of a fast clicking sound, not a whine.

Yeah, theres no clicking sounds and the whine is constant, regardless of gear. So far all indications point to transfer case or diffy. I'm leaning toward trans case because of the speedo. Thx fer the input tho.

OK. NOT the Tcase. The speedo problem is the Gawdamn needle. Mutherfuqer fell off inside the cluster. This leaves the diffy as the only culprit. Considering the wear on the ring gear.

Amen to that! Been wantin to upgrage to 14 bolt anyways.
