I have burned through 3 fuel pumps in my bagged 96. Ive got a 20 gal fuel cell, and the guy that installed it put an external fuel pump from carquest (dont have model # right now, check when I get home). I worked great for almost a year, then burnt up. I replaced it with the same pump. Worked great then burnt up. Again it happened. I always kept fuel in the tank. I think its just a weak pump. I dont know. I need a better or stronger alternative that doesnt cost an arm & leg. Can someone point me in the right direction. Need specs too, pressure needed etc.

where is the pump located? near the tank or motor? next question was it made to push or pull fuel? and the last, why not switch to a mechanical pump with a electric for priming and starting the truck? is that an option? just trying to help out man
