.....a 1973 Toro with cast deck. It would have been cool to have in running condition, but I'm not THAT into lawn mowers to want to restore one.

I started cutting our grass when I was about 11.
15th B'day present from Dad was a brand spankin' new...

I wasn't laughing.
Tried negotiating with him to cough up some $$$ for cutting the grass.
"What? I just bought you a new mower & now you want me to pay you to use it on top of that? Hit the road. Just make sure the grass is cut before you go."
When I moved out, Dad kept the mower. He wouldn't let me take it with me.
B'day present? Yea. O.K.
"Well, if it's like that, then you owe me for 8 years of yard maintenance!"
I can still hear the hysterical peals of laughter.
That mower was running like a top, 20+ years from new.
