Today at the garage, this absolutely gorgeous '70 El Camino SS454 came in for its annual safety inspection. Sounded wicked, the owner said it's not stock and he has a couple other engine mods to do to it yet.

I often think, I should let my truck go, and get one of these. If anything ever happens to my truck, I will have an ElCamino.

Back in the early 80's over in the next town there were about 8 of these and all of them were red, my best friend had one with a 4speed and it was a 69 red with blalck vinyl top too. Cool cars. I had a 76 that was nice but it had a 305 and while you were able to go places you couldn't get there fast.

I know a 400 will take a lot that other trucks can't handle...but let's not be this guy.
According to the caption, this was in Iowa....

Looks like they may worship baling twine and duck tape. This appears to be too far to be safe in the smallest amount and shouldn't be on the road.

I was on a small car show today and it's the first time I saw a Suburban on one. 96 this-made my Tahoe look small lol. And then this 76 Lincoln arrived-and that thing, being 2 door,was longer than Burb. Nearly 6 meters. There was also this nice CJ.

Yes those 70s Lincolns are huge! I remember being out with Dad and my brother, back when we still had square body Burbs (which are slightly larger than the 400 ones) and some other patron of the restaurant had come in one of those beasts. We were all like "holy cow that thing is bigger than the Burb!" IIRC they all came with the 460 FE series engine; nothing less would move them.....
Probably about as long as my crew cab lol!

2.4 tonnes weight,460 cu in,3.2 meters wide and...only 202bhp. 2 to 4 dead bodies trunk size.

460 would be a 385 series engine. FE maxed out at I believe 428 stock displacement.
