What would you recommend that's cheap but good under $50 if possible
A 1 farad capacitor is good for a thousand watts. A .5 one for 500w, you see the pattern. Pick one up off Amazon for $50 I'm sure.
When I went to car stereo school back in 96, we asked about caps and which were best. The answer was there were only 2 companies in the world that produced them(at the time, may have changed) and you pay for branding and shiny stickers, didn't even have volt meters on them back then.
BUT.....if you have a system that requires a capacitor, you really need to upgrade your basic wiring first...aka the big 3. Look it up if you haven't already.
You already have a issue with your fan, fix that first.
Do some basic diagnostics first.
What's your voltage at idle, revved up, pull the fuse for the HVAC and test it again.

It does it randomly could be driving or braking sometimes even sitting in park
My truck does it too!! The only connection I’ve yet to mess with is the input to the fuse box in the engine bay. It’s on my list, all other main wires have been upgraded.
