don't take offense , just throwing stuff out, closest Mopar ever came to supercar was the Viper, they had their issues.

No offense, and I love Vipers.

$ for HP, a boosted 4.8/5.3 can't be beat. Sure, you can make more HP out of something bigger with less boost, but it comes with additional $. I scored my 5.3 in my D100 for free!

that is wrong 8 lug 2500 do not have v6s the ld 6 lug version on the other hand in all cab and bed configurations have the 4.3 as the base engine all though I do not think any were ordered like that and I have no idea how many left the factory like that
6 lug 3/4 ton makes as much sense as that retarded 7 lug "light duty" F250 that Ford pulled out of their *** back in the 2000s.

Mmmmm light duty 3/4 ton. Still think about buying the ECSB LD2500 near me. 5.7/NV3500 and a K. It’s pretty rotten.

The only downside to a turbo 8.1 is that they are getting harder and harder to find depending on the location. The 6.0s are still so easy to find and the $ spent over a 5.3 or 4.8 is worth it in most cases. You just need to hunt a bit for a good 2wd donor truck or van so you get the matching wiring and 4L80E.

Sure the 4.8 or 5.3 can both make good power but they need to rev to do it. Once you add a medium sized cam like a sloppy stage 2 or BTR Stage 2 the little engines just aren’t as streetable compared to the 6.0.

I would say turbo on an 8.1L is even better. I can still find 8.1Ls cheaper than 6.0s here.
Turbo an 8.8. When gm sold them to psi they stuck them in trucks and school busses. I believe they had forged cranks and pistons. I can find good core takeout that got replaced with a new crate motor cheeper than I can buy the parts to stroke an 8.1
