98 4l60e 4x4 vs 4l60e 2x4

im getting a good deal on a trans from a 98 Tahoe 4 door 4x4 will it swap right in to my 98 1500 ext cab shortbed 2x4 i know the tail housing will have to be swapped but will everything else work they are both 4l60e trans mine is starting to go and dont have time to wait for the rebuilt thanks in advance

You just need to the trans half way apart to swap output shafts. Then put it back together...

If you're going to do all that, just rebuild yours.

Yup. They will not directly interchange.
