I have a 98 k1500 with a bad transmission. My question is will a 96 4l60e be plug and play with the exception of the transmission lines? If not, what else would be different?

I think the major difference is the adaptor. 96 uses 4 bolt, then switched to 6 bolt. So whatever trans you get, make sure get the adaptor. 98 used a 2 piece bell, 96 was single.

Do you happen to have the part number for the adapter needed?
