Hi everyone,
I have a 1994 GMC K1500 with a TBI (obviously) 350 and a 4L60E.
I’m currently in the process of building and engine for it (new heads, intake, carb swapped, bigger cam, etc…)
My question is, how do I control the transmission (like kickdown and torque converter lock etc..) without the TPS on the original throttle body?
Are these 4L60Es standalone and operate those functions on their own? I’ve been told there’s a TV cable that goes to the transmission that controls kickdown but on mine there was only the throttle cable and the cruise control cable that led up to the box on the firewall by the wiper motor. Am I missing something?
Then transmission is brand new as of a few months ago, so swapping out for a 700R4 is out of the question. I’m determined to make this work.
Like I said previously, I’m carb swapping it to a quadrajet to suffice the upgrades i’ve done to the top end, and just because I like carburetors. (call me old fashioned i guess )
Any insight would be great!
Thanks
