Hey everyone I have a 1998 Chevy suburban with 5.7 vortex that I did an intake and carb swap. Installed the TPs summit kit hei distributor and inline fuel pump. Runs great but the trans will not shift?? It’s the 4l60e. And my tach doesn’t work. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong so as to get it to shift

4l60 is 100% computer controlled. No ECM, no shift. US Shift makes a stand alone module to shift trans….
Normally I wouldn't be pedantic, but in this case it really matters. The 4L60E is 100% computer controlled. The 4L60 only uses the computer for TCC lockup, and that can be modded out.

It will work without a controller you just need to get the TPS and tack signal connected to the computer. Just because the computer isn’t fuelling engine anymore doesn’t mean it can’t control the trans once it has the signals it needs such as RPM and throttle position.
