Well folks,
For the most part it has been a real pleasure to hang out with y'all but I was accused this morning of phishing on the first ride thread. I spent the first 20yrs of my life screwing up and the last 40 striving to be an honorable man and I'll be damned if I'm gonna have some self righteous SOB accuse me of doing something dishonorable.

Looks like a simple misunderstanding over a moderator shutting a thread down to help protect online safety of the members - not from you, but from others. Thousands of bots scraping web forums all over the net looking for any info they can amass for attempts on attacking people's accounts. "First car" is indeed a very common security question and one you DO see asked in blatant phishing attempts. I don't believe anyone here thought YOU were attempting to phish the forum members, at all. Stick around whydoncha.

The reason the thread got shut down was because, it asked what was your first car. This is used may times, as a secret question, to reset passwords. It has nothing to do with the OP. It's just not a good idea to put secret question info out there. That, and that alone, is why the thread got shut down.

That makes sense. Thanks for looking out for us, Kenny! Maybe we could start a thread about what our second car was? Just joking and trying to lighten the mood.

I'm glad your back and the mods are doing great work looking out for us behind the scenes. I never would have thought anything was wrong with that discussion but I can see where some hacker with nothing else better to do than troll the internet could try to use that info against us.

Soo... anyway... whats ya'lls Mothers maiden names and name of your Elementary schools???

While I too enjoyed the thread and the stories/memories, I'll agree, there are those who aren't interested in the story or memories.
I'll applaud mods for being on top of such things, but I wanna go a step farther. I applaud mods who actually have a conversation with a dusgruntled individual, and explain what is actually going on.
This type of stuff is why I say this is one of the greatest forums I've ever been on.
Scooter- I don't know ya, but I'm glad you chose to stay!
