Normally I'd say if it's free it's for me; but free campers and free boat give me the deepest sense of dread.
What's the plans for it?
I'm going to crawl through it at some point and see what it needs. Hopefully it's not rotten. The Bravo outdrive and 6 lug 5k axles, not to mention the big block are good scores if it ends up getting parted out.

Not "towed" exactly, more "moved" but the trailer hitch was involved. This past Tuesday evening, Rawhide moved two travel trailers longer than he is; I think 24' and 30', in the park.
Then Friday, pulled the '06 up some to get it away from a tree and so we could get in it. Chain hook in the receiver, tow chain triangle between that and the tow hooks. No issues with any of them....

Camping in July. Didn't have a happy ending, but it looked great sitting there and pulled hard for about the first six miles or so...

Love it; great combo but I hate to hear you had problems, what happened?
I definitely feel your pain on struggles with a camping trip. Last spring I took my truck and camper down to the beach, truck ran like crap the whole way down and I busted a leaf spring on the camper. But I managed to make it.

Other than having to wrench on the truck and camper for the first day, it was a good beach vacation.
I'm definitely using that trip as motivation for building the new motor for my truck.

Towed fine through town, got out on the interstate and stepped on it to get up to speed and it started popping and backfiring through the intake. Haven't had the chance to dive in yet, but I did pop the valve covers and everything was intact as I set it. Assuming at this point it's a lifter or wiped a cam lobe. Just put a cam in it last year, but unfortunately I am cheap and went flat tappett. Looks like a roller is in my future.
