Control arm in second pic is stamped as wellSee how the forged piece sits in stamped a-arm in top picture? I can’t tell from 2nd picture if it’s the same as first and having a forged tip. Or is whole a-arm forged?
Thanks, that answers my question. So that IS totally baffling. I have those same LCA’s and both same size ball joints(K6477) although I used Mevotech. That’s crazy!Second pic is stamped as well
Right! How is this possible? Thanks, that answers my question. So that IS totally baffling. I have those same LCA’s and both same size ball joints(K6477) although I used Mevotech. That’s crazy!
FWIW- Acdelco does list 3 different ball joints. 1 for stamped and 2 for forged. Not sure if the 2 for forged are interchangeable or was there 2 different forged.

What’s the deal with the one that uses an adhesive? Ease of install without having to press it in?Two different product lines.....lower one is thier or line.
I'd guess one of the cps control arms has been modified.....maybe hogged out to fit the larger ball joint by someone not knowing any better or maybe "cleaned up" too aggressively?
I would have gotten calipers out and started measuring.

4wd Hub Replacement
I realize this is a super old question, but it's a sticky and I needed to know this info too. So here is the GM part number for the bolts. The were $7/ea at my local Chevy dealer, which is cheaper than any website I could find (with shipping). GM Part no. 15995614 Works for 6-lug hubs. Not...www.gmt400.com

What are the chances that one of the control arms is an aftermarket unit, and the Chinese, or the Turks, or whoever decided to use a different-size ball joint in their version of the control arm?
