Interesting discussion in here. I have nothing useful to add really, just wanted to express my concern about Kenny wearing tires out that fast. I would almost think that would have to be another issue besides alignment, 12K miles on a set of tires is insane! I drive my trucks like race cars quite often and I still get 30K out of a set of tires easily. Probably closer to 40K in most cases.

Just out of curiosity what brand/model/tread wear rating tires are we talking here?

As for a print put, yea I got one every alignment for the last 3 alignments. Paper says all good to specs, but I just keep eating tires. I just took these of all 4 tires.

Easily. If I had access to a good rack I would increase the caster as well. Ever drive a Mercedes down the freeway. You don't even need to hold the wheel
So, how much caster can you get out of the stock suspension? Can you get to 5-6 degrees with negative camber or are we talking 3-4 degrees? I've never tried on one of these.

I'm willing to bet that tire quality is playing at least a small part in this problem. My experience (and that of some of my family members) with Mastercraft tires has not been good to say the least.

I did a quick Google search on those A/S IVs you have Kenny, apparently you're not the only one who has had issues with them wearing out prematurely. Also according to Mastercraft their UTQG rating is a 440, which seems pretty low for a highway passenger tire to me.

I quit being a mechanic in '95. And honestly don't remember aligning an OBS. I will say my 98 with 200k still had the knockouts. Which tells me that truck has never been aligned properly

Yes, my tires are cheap tires. I was laid off when I bought them. The only thing I can find around me are are 275/75/15. Any thing else I have to order. I can get Cooper Cobra in a 70 , or even 60 also BFGs I think. Had Coopers on last time, and they did not last ether, but better than these. Looks like negitive 1 degree is what I will ask for on camber.

well I spent the morning at the alignment shop. They set the camber at -2 degees. Time will tell if that is enough negitive camber.
