Are you saying that you can only install it on 98+ trucks or that the steering wheel with controls only came on 98+ trucks. Mine is a 96

Only on 98+ trucks, they have a smaller airbag. But (and I'm sure someone that knows better than I do will chime in here) I don't see why you couldn't switch your steering wheel/airbag over to a 98+ in your truck.

*cough cough* http://www.gmt400.com/forum/showthr...9-02-NBS-Steering-Wheel-Audio-Control-Install

You can add them to any GMT400 or early GMT800 truck. Easier if your truck already has the small airbag (98+) but as you'll see I've added them to a 95 in the thread and my 02. I have also added them to my old 99 K2500, 98 K3500 and a friends 96 K3500, all of which had the large style non-airbag wheels.

Did the sticker for the gear indicator come with the other stickers?

Did a different gauge face on mine. The blue lights are actually built into the face. Also cleared the needles. Can't tell in the pics, but they light up blue.

I know I've posted one of these before....... I'll list some of my more unique mods instead of listing everything.

I had looked at those before I found these. I was then going to get either a billet aluminum overlay so as to differentiate the guages, or trace it on some black plastic. But I didnt like the holes they put in them to let the idiot lights show through. So, these do the look (almost) I was looking for, and I didnt have to use an overlay.

Another mod I got to yesterday is fabbing up a power mirror switch. Picked up a set of power mirrors, and they dont work all that well without the switch. This is the switch I used, came on mid 90s S10 Blazers. Part #15631464;

So, first I measured up the switch, and decided where I wanted it, then I put down some tape and drew out my cut lines;

Then I cut out the part that was in the way;

Then I test fitted the switch, drilled two holes, mounted the switch, took it back off and cut off the excess length;

Put it all back together and test fit it.

Once I actually mount the mirrors and run the wires I'll continue this.

Please do continue this. Take as many pictures as possible. I got as far as you did then couldn't figure out the wiring.

I had that wired up when I had power towing mirrors on the truck to tow the travel trailer.
