These are the ones I’ve been keeping my eye on.
Note that there's no oil filler hole on those. It's okay if you have a vintage Edelbrock C3BX manifold laying around. Put your breather on the driver side, and your PCV and hose to the carburetor on the passenger side.

Been many years since I've heard C3BX. I ran one on my '63 Suburban's 350 which then ended up in my '61 Apache short/wide. Freeze plug in the oil filler tube hole though as I had a large breather cap I could pop off to add oil. You may notice I've got the breather and PCV sides swapped.. oh well. Still worked. ;)

Don't judge me for the hose clamp holding the master cylinder cover on. The hold-down bolt had broken off inside and I wasn't ready to do battle to remove it. In the early 90's, rebuild kits/parts were nearly impossible to find for that brake/clutch combo master cylinder, so I was nervous to disturb it. Already had one with an internal leak on the clutch side of my green '61 Apache short/step.

I wish my engine was that clean! Mine has the edelbrock RPM performer intake on it. Would what you suggested still work?

Also, would install baffles on both covers or just the one with the PCV valve?

These are the ones I’ve been keeping my eye on. The pro form ones from summit are excellent but I can’t justify spending $200 on valve covers just yet.
Yeah me too! And my trucks need the stock height ones to clear the AC lines....I want something to break up all the black under the hood....

I began reversing my RTV exuberance from when I first tried to seal the valve covers in preparation for when the new ones get here tomorrow. The driver side was immaculate inside, the passenger side however…

It appears while I was away my engine ordered a milkshake for the passenger side head. I needed to do an oil change anyway but I’d like to figure out why I have coolant in the wrong place on only one side of the motor. I don’t have any visible coolant leaks and I put new intake gaskets in awhile ago so I’m mystified as to where this is coming from.

All the head bolts go into the water jacket so thats one possibility, Sometimes the PCV system can cause a little bit of milkshake too.
That’s relieving. Hopefully it’s the PCV system, or lack thereof. I pulled the PCV hose off the carb and I could see it had been all but hosing oil into the motor.
