Go make us some cookies, grandma. :)

Oh, in my lifetime, just listing my factory hot rods/ built vehicles:

1951 GMC 3100 with 283 installed with Vette fuelie heads and Vette carburetor intake.

1956 Apache 10 with built solid lifter 396, high rise intake, Holley double pumper, headers, and Muncie close ratio. (Fast truck. It broke a lot).

1970 1/2 Chevelle SS with LS6 and TH400/4.10 diff, bought it in 1974 with 29k on it. Still one of the quickest stoplight to stoplight vehicles Detroit has ever made.

1972 C20 with the rare trailing arm/coil rear suspension, factory 325hp 396 w/TH400, bodacious cam,Edelbrock intake, Holley double pumper, and Hookers.

1976 K10 SWB with factory 400 SB/TH350, 3.73’s with LD, in 1983 installed a Edelbrock Torquer, Cyclone AR-1 headers, a Rancho 2.5” lift w/ Rancho shocks, and Sierra 33-12.50/15’s—my first set of steel belted radials. That was a going *****….

Been there, done the good and the bad, had a lot of fun, and learned lots of lessons…….

Not seeing any 4L60 vehiculars in that there resume.

lol……
1996 K1500, 5.7/4L60E. Currently 268k. OE Trans blew at 158K, broke the rebuilt at 240k (entirely my dumbazz fault). Like the second rebuild better.

1997 K1500 5.7/4L60E. 166k Bought the truck 6 years ago with 138K from the original owner who was the parts manager at the local Chevy dealer. Before I ever bought the truck he preached about keeping the fluid bright red. Original trans still going. His son bought their 98 K1500 Suburban, it has 230k on it with the original trans—probably because he’s followed his father’s advice.

2001 Sierra 1500 4wd 5.3/4L60E 97K, original trans.

1996 G1500, 262K, rebuilt tran has 110K.

2002 G1500, rebuilt trans has 70K.

My observation is following scheduled maintenance these OE and quality rebuilds they will last ~150K. With EXCEPTIONAL maintenance much longer.

With boy racer parts, or using/abusing them in a manner they were never intended for, all bets are off…..

Meanwhile back at the ranch, my OE and stock rebuilt 4L60E’s keep chugging along……..
The stock one in my 97 van made it to 38K. The built up 4L65E made it to 40K. Neither were ever abused in any way other than pulling around a van that was rolling around alot at the 7,000 lbs mark. The occasional WOT acceleration getting on the highway on a short on-ramp or a 4-2 kickdown passing a slow vehicle on a 2 lane country road. Lots of cruising on the open road at 75-85 mph. Swapped to a 4L85E at 78K. 8.5 10-bolt made it to 80K. Put a trailer hitch on it after the 85E/9.5" 14-bolt swap.

Give it time. . .
I'm just good at selling **** right before it goes bang for some reason, although I guarantee the one in my truck (the only one I still have) will blow up sometime during my ownership, as I don't intend to get rid of this truck ever. (unless I can find someone to manual swap it before that happens)

I resemble that remark! I blew my 700R4 (4L60) twice after I put some go fast parts on it. Hell, I even blew the 727 Torque Flight trans in my old man's 69 Coronet 440 pulling reverse drops , blew another 727 in my 84 W150 4X4, blew an E4OD trans in my 90 F250 HD Diesel ECLB, the list goes on :anitoof:. But my anvil is still in one piece - so far...
