ok thanks, i did read the online instructions and saw about the starter going get a o2 collector instead of welding a bung on, figured it was easier since it’s a 2wd and don’t have to worry about the transfer case and front driveshaft and stuffRead the instructions!!!! Lol
We didn't when I did mine, thought we were smart, wrong! Lol
Drivers side was straight forward, from the top.
Passenger side, HAVE to take the starter off.... don't fight it, just do it. Lol
If you don't have a bung for the 02 sensor already in the drivers side, do it before you install as well.
Don't be in a hurry, will take a lot longer than you think it should.
And no.... didn't have to unbolt the motor.
ok thanksI don't recall having to lift the engine in WCJr when I installed the headers, but Drunkcanuk's right about having to remove the starter. You'll also want boot protectors for the #6 and #8 spark plug wires.

wondering it i would need the plug boots with the long tubes i think i doThe shorty headers on my '88 K1500 have marvelous plug clearance. Probably better than the original manifolds. It all depends on how the tubes are bent; and how the plugs are angled into the combustion chambers.
As said...a 2WD should be easy compared to 4WD.

I have angled plugs with shorty headers. I wound up burning through the boots and melting a plug wire on #5 cylinder. After that, I wrapped my headers with DEI tape AND installed boots on all the wires even though I really only needed boots for the back 2 cylinders on both sides. Plus it helps to keep the heat down under the hood.wondering it i would need the plug boots with the long tubes i think i do
i have 90 degree angled ones, form someone i know that put long tubes on be said he put them on right and zipped tied them together so they don’t move and he hasn’t had a problem but the boots aren’t expensive so one just going get themI have angled plugs with shorty headers.
