Ive noticed improved sound with the cap

Unless you were experiencing voltage drop before, that's pretty much impossible. If your alternator and battery are up to the task, a capacitor is never necessary. But I digress...

Hope you get the issue figured out.

Kill the cap. Take a speaker and hook it directly to the amp. If it works you have a wiring problem from the doors but if it don't work then check pre outs on radio. One more thing check your ground wire.

Check the fuses on the amplifier? I would still try another set of rca cables if you have not.

The cap isnt tied in to the speaker system. Just the sub
