Lowering keys

96 k1500 Burb. Decranked keys and shackles. Will lowering keys be lower than just decranked keys

In theory yes. I know that lift keys allow you to go further than stock. I would assume its the same for lowering keys.

I believe you need purple keys out of a 3/4 nbs. Those will drop it. Theres a couple of lowered 4wds around here.

They don't... You can crank to the bump stops with stock keys. Lift keys are a waste of money.

Not sure if the reverse is true, though. I've never seen someone talk about it before. Interested to see what you find out.

They do exist for a reason. Not every truck can max out the factory suspension with just the stock key. Plus it makes it easier to get there.

You don't want to max it out, anyway. If you do you're going to kill your ride quality and wear out front end parts really quickly. You don't want to lift one of these any more than 2" by cranking keys, I can tell you from experience. Other truck body styles may benefit from aftermarket lift keys, but no GMT400 does. This subject has been beaten to death here over the years.
