Long Tubes and TH350 Trans - Solved

[99Silverado]

On the exhaust side of my build I went with Schoenfeld pn# 1314-3, 1 3/4" primaries 3" collector. I'm running a turbo 350 trans and the headers are not clearing. They hit the frame on one side and the trans bell housing where the starter sits.



It's a high torque starter with a big aluminum piece I may have to slice off to let it clear. Or cut the ear off the trans housing, or maybe both.



Anyone running long tubes with a TH350? Just wanna make sure I'm not missing something obvious before I cut or dent my new headers lol

They're not specifying 2WD vs. 4WD. Neither did you.

I don't know how a company can build SBC headers that don't clear the starter motor, or don't clear an auto-trans bellhousing.

Cut the side of the trans housing off, it turned out fine after that. I should have cut it from the start it would have saved a couple scratches from my impatience

Who the **** designs headers that don't fit past a transmission??? SOMETHING about this is very weird.
