i havent the slightest idea what you said lol

For the sake of discussion, K47 was the RPO code for the factory "High Capacity" air cleaner setup. Not really sure what the difference is, or why in the hell my V6 truck got one, but they take slightly different size filters than the standard boxes.

I'd be willing to trade mine for a factory Vortec V6 setup with the K47 box. [emoji38]

But seriously if I ever find my factory stuff I'll keep this in mind. Won't do me any good sitting in the garage.
What is a k47 box?

Explained it a couple posts up, but basically it's a factory "High Capacity" airbox.

Actually just thought about it for a second and went to double check the RPO codes in the Suburban... Turns out both of my trucks came with the K47 airbox. Here's a pic I just took of the one in the 'burb.

Yeah as far as looks they're pretty much identical. I think they're just slightly larger on the inside than the standard boxes. Standard boxes are listed as AC Delco filter number A1300C, K47 boxes take AC Delco A1301C.

The 97-98 3/4 tons I have looked at with the L31 have a different airbox than my 1997 L30 1/2 ton, which has baffles and a resonator chamber.

The L31 airbox on the 3/4 tons have no baffles or resonator inside. On the outside, they look similar.
