Or in a Pinto. The top of the gas tank was the floor of the trunk.

They had some silly problem with tanks rupturing, and folks getting crispy.

Fun fact about that, the Pinto was middle of the road for fires. Toyota was even worse. Ford just got caught with that memo and became the poster child for it.
