I looked at my lines and I'm scared to even touch the fittings lol. My fuel tank is even iffy with the rust. Have you heard of anyone painting the fuel tank? It's so worth the effort. Nothing like having the piece of mind knowing your frame will remain in solid shape, and man does it make a truck look better. Since you have the bed off, I'd highly recommend dropping the fuel tank. I did my frame last summer, I took the lines off and undid any clips they were attached to along the frame rail, I draped the lines over the drive shaft after I wrapped them up to tuck them out of the way. After dropping the tank you'll have unlimited access to the inside of the driver side frame rail. Doesn't take long at all, really. Good luck, and please post progress pictures!
Hey is your truck lowered at all?If you manage to get a lot of drop out of the front, it may also be a good idea to temporarily loosen all your front A arm bolts to the frame to let your bushings relax to the new position and re tighten to spec. That way you wont be chewing through bushings all the time. And if you're going to drop it a couple inches you would need an alignment anyway. Just a thought I had. Really excited to see your progress.
Yeper, look at the 2003-2006 Chevy Silverado SS, it's an AWD muscle truck with a 6.0! Some were 2WD, a little bit harder to find though.Never thought of it like that. You raise some strong points! Sounds like a cool build! Definitely gonna keep up with this one!
